In order for us to know exactly who is in or out of the building, it is vital that parents and guardians entering and exiting the school at anytime, other than 8.50 am and 3.15 pm, must use the front door.  Signing yourself and your child in and out of school is essential as it enables us to account for any missing persons.

The decision as to a wet morning or not is taken in school at about 8.40 am.  If wet morning arrangements are implemented, the white board will go outside the front entrance stating this.  The school doors will be opened at 8.45 am and children are invited to filter to their cloakrooms and classrooms any time from 8.45 - 8.55 am.  Children arriving in the playground before 8.45 am will remain in the playground, so the incentive is not to arrive too early!  If parents can avoid bringing a buggy into school on these occasions it will certainly ease the pressure of volume of traffic in busy corridors.

We want parents/guardians to feel welcome to come into the school (as much as possible) but we ask you leave your children by 8.55 am, as this encourages independence in the child and reduces congestion in the school.  These morning arrangements are designed to ensure that we are fully aware at all times of the wherabouts of all childern, and are thus in the interests of safety and security.

There is a fifteen minute break for the children mid morning when a healthy snack or fruit or vegatable is permitted.  All drinks for break time and for lunch time should be in a leak proof container and should be water or fresh juice.  We discourage all sugary drinks.

Lunch time is between 12noon to 1.15 pm.  Children are required to bring a packed lunch.  Parents/guardians should ensure that a drink is included in the lunchbox.  Parents are also asked to be aware that products containing nuts in the child's packed lunch can cause a health risk to our children with nut allergies.

At the end of the school day, reception children are 'handed over' to their parents/guardians from their classroom;  older children are brought out to their designated points on the school playground by their teacher.  It is school policy that all children are collected are collected by an adult (or a teenager over sixteen years of age) who is known to the staff.

Parents must advise us of change of collection person by calling into the School Office.  Failure to do this will result in the school office having to wait for telephone or verbal instructions from the parent or guardian before a child is released to another adult.
